What is the longest barrel my Proto SLG 09 will take?

Hi,

I'm pretty new to paintball and looking for some advice about my gun.

I've been and bought a Proto SLG 09, went to a 'walk on' with it yesterday. After a full days use i started to wonder what size barrel the gun would take if i wanted to upgrade it.. prefrebly the longest one possible.

I have no clue which manufacturers make the specific barrel for the SLG 09 except Proto? i heard rumours that they can take the Dye barrels too but not 100% sure and don't want to buy something that won't fit afterall.

Could anyone help me out here?

an Slg is autococker threaded, and anything above 14" is just waste

me personally i like the two piece dye ultralite system, this allows you to buy two or more backs and bore match your paint etc

All of Dyes and Protos markers use autococker threads, so you can take your pick from virtually any barrel you want, and I'd agree with stoke, anything over 14" just gives more of the barrel for the ball to break in.

Warped paintball are doing a un1tech barrel kit for £35 that'd be just fine, and don't forget people are always selling second hand

edit:: Oh, and the un1tech is a two piece but the front portion extends through the whole length of the barrel, giving the ball an unbroken path from chamber to tip.

Anything above about 8" is just waste tbh. The rest is mainly used for aesthetics, pushing bunkers out of the way, and for sexy time.

you really wanna buy a FREAK barrel kit for it dude pick one up off here for about 50inc P+P use the back and ur standard barrel as a front will be ace thats what im doin with my slg 08 or gunna pinch me a PMR barrel hehe

that is pretty much a seriously extended dye UL barrel that isn't made by dye

except mine isn't a 3pc and is made made by dye
