Just got a question for you all.

Is safety full auto (3 trigger pulls then full auto) classed as full auto or ramping?

I class it as full auto but i've been told by a number of people that use it on woodsballs markers it's classed as ramping and i would just like to get my facts straight if i'm wrong.

The reason i'm asking this is because i do not want to ban anyone from using modes on their markers that are used at other sites.

Ramping is a % added to pulls. As no pull because switch is depressed and then shots added whilst trigger is held, and stops when trigger is released then its full auto. Thats how I understand it

yup, as lump says. ramping adds extra shots up to your ROF cap on your behalf when you PULL the trigger at a predetermined rate AND after a predetermined NUMBER. eg: kicks in when 7bps is achieved for 5 trigger pulls, and as long a you maintain at least that rate it will fire at your ROF cap. you stop, either by releasing the trigger or holding it, the marker stops.

full auto is when you get extra shots when you HOLD the trigger, not pull it. the "safety" mode is merely there so that if you fall/stumble/walk into a branch and it jams the trigger it will only fire off a single shot instead of dumping your hopper in all directions.

3/5/X-shot bursts also fall under the same category as the above as they are also not necessarily determined by a set ROF to initiated them or maintain them.

you'll find most scenario games run SEMI or RAMP only and EXCLUDE both FULLAUTO and BURST modes.
