Yeah, basically when the recoil/vibration of the marker firing causes the trigger to reset and fire without you pulling the trigger. Very illegal in every tournament league around, so you're better off without it.
 
RTs are tested with common sense in mind.

The difference between the input pressure and the firing pressure causes the kickback by the trigger.

If you have set the input pressure so high that the marshall can get the trigger to runaway then it will be pulled.

It can have some kickback and be impossible to get to runaway and thats fine.

Airgun Designs RTs are definitely NOT illegal if properly setup - and should be tested for bounce/runaway on a case by case basis - same as every other marker out there.

Like John C said, if they're badly setup and have a runaway sweetspot then they would be illegal - exactly the same as an electro cocker or timmy with bad bounce.

I believe that the Tippman RT may be illegal as it is specifically designed to runaway.
