What is a torny post???

If a post saying we need players for a torny on this date can you help is not a torny related post what is it?
I know the first place i look to find out about any up and comeing torny is funny enough the torny page.
I dont want to go looking through the other forums to find a player for a one off gig.
I can see how looking for long term players and the like should go in the clasifides but thats not the same.
If people keep puting posts like we need a player in this forum may be its you who are wrong not us after all is this forum not for us the players .
I understand that there has to be some one keeping an eye on what is posted or this will go the way the old forem whent with peole just slaging each other .
It may not sound it but i do think all you guys at p8 do agreat job
but if you get no feed back how do you know what we think..

Ideally

requests for guest players and the like should be posted in Announcements. A wide variety of similar sorts of posts have been posted to Tourney Forum in the past and mostly allowed but it's getting so that half the viewable threads are that sort of thing so there's a bit of a crackdown going on.
If clicking over to another forum proves too time consuming and stressful perhaps you can find another Skull to help you out.
If you have additional questions there are a number of threads up at the moment explaining.

What is the most important thing? The fact that it is about a tournament or the fact that it is an announcement?

Surely the most important part takes precedent.

And since this board isn't about people making announcements or where they can go and do it on a competitive level then I'd suggest the most important part is that it's about a tourny.

We have a vision for what we want this site to become (all of it, not just tha forums), just like we have a vision for PGI and What Paintball Gear?

Now some people may not agree 100% with it, an that's fine, but respect our wishes for what we want to do with our business please.

I keep stressing that this is supposed to be a forum for debate for the international pball community, tha tournament community in this instance, not a place to pick up players for this sunday, or contact a tourney operator. If you wanna do thatm, use announcements...jeez, it won't talk too long before tha penny drops and people look in there for that sort of stuff. Skulls, you argument is so weak and lazy that I almost respect it dude!

Now please, we ain't looking for a fight, just respect our wishes...

Nice to see that the descriptions under the forum definitions have now changed to back up your side of the arguement.

Good.

because before they were confusing and not helping to direct people in regards to your wishes and that was just poor.

Now at least you have changed the definitions to help instruct people to where they need to find their information.

I know this is a dictatorship, but just think for a moment why you are providing this board. It isn't for your health or our well being. It's to provide a service, advertise and help PGI make money.

If your customers (that's all us sad folks reading the board) aren't happy, should you keep telling us we are wrong and making us feel unwanted or should you do something about it?

I am glad you have come to see reason and done something about it. i.e. renaming the forum descriptions so people know where to find what they are looking for.

personally I think it was the wrong way around to do it just to save face in a small arguement where your customers were actually trying to tell you what they wanted and what would make the board a better place for them.

You can lead a horse to water but you can not make him drink.

I'de like to thank manike for all his posts i could not have put it better.
As far as i could see i was not announeing any thing and had no queries so that would have been the wrong forum to put them in.
As for your comments on being lazy i work 14hrs a day and dont have time to look at all the forums for some thing i think is about tornys but one of you at p8 may not, now you have changed the forum name (good way to win that ) i know were to look.

Nobody said you were lazy, dude. And if you look at Baca's post you'll see the smiley, so no hard feelings I hope.
The forum name was not changed to win anything, but to accomodate things for you guys. As long as people are feeling peeved, be they moderators or regular posters, nobody wins.
