What hopper to get?

I personally think that the Evo II is sufficient for just about anyone. It's reasonably priced (Unlike some other fast hopper design... Since when is 20+ days worth of lunch justifiable for a stinkin hopper?!?!), provides as fast a feed rate as 99.99% of people ACTUALLY SHOOT ON THE FIELD, NOT IN THEIR MINDS OR AT THE TARGET RANGE OR AT A BUNKER BEFORE/AFTER A GAME (Yes I mean really, not what your ego says you do.), has a very nice flip down lid which I like, and it's simple to take apart. Other than to prove what a vain, prodigal fool you can be for spending twice as much on a whim, not much is accomplished by purchasing the other.

while the EVO has speed during long strings, because there is no tension behind the ball stack you still have a delay before the sensing of the gap and the motor spinning to catch up.

This means that for the first couple of balls the feed rate is limited by gravity (which gives tops bps of about 12-13). Therefore if you were to double tap at effectively 17 or 18bps which is very easy then the Evo could not keep up.

Therefore the Evo will not be as fast as "ACTUALLY SHOOT ON THE FIELD" in all situations, only when averaged over long strings does it hold up.

Plus, if you are thinking of an Evo on a closed bolt marker, then it limits your ROF as the bolt will cycle every 1/nth of a sec when n is your max bps setting. As you have to set that n to take accoutn of that initial delay, especially when double tapping/ snap shooting then your hopper is still holding you back

Only the HALO keeps up in all situations so is a very good piece of kit and well worth the money if you want the best.

And before anyone says it I have both, and the HALO is my first choice by far.

Ok - thought i was replying to different thread in last post

On topic - unless you are going for a real high end electro a 12v Rev will see you right in nearly all cases and is great hopper to start with.

Ive never used one or even seen one IRL, but isnt the Evo a bit vulnerable, the way the neck is right at the end, boy, it looks like it would snap easier than balsa wood with all that potential leverage.

What u got?

Killer,

What you got? What you need really does depend on what marker your shooting and where/what you play.

If you're shooting a slow blow-back for Rec-ball then a 9volt will do.

If your shooting an Angel at the back then a Halo or something else stoopidly fast might be neccesary.

Myself, I shoot an Empire "Re-Load" converted Revvy, this is plenty fast for most human being's needs, but may be faster than you need.

So tell us and we can give you better advice
