Tested my PMR over the crono the weekend, I have not used it properly yet just getting a feel for it and it was doing 265FPS (+/- a few each way) is this what they should be set at?
sorry may have worded it wrong
I know it means Feet Per Second.
what I wanted to know is what speed it should be running at,
when I set my air rifles up it is worked out with weight of pellet to be legal ie a 7.9g pellet running at 805FPS is iirc about 11.25ftlb = legal
Just to expand on what Impulse said, marker must shoot under 300fps. 265 sounds low, depending on how consistent your reg is is how close you can get to 300fps. 285/290 is a safe bet, to allow for variation.
thanks
so 300fps is the full limit of the law and is what paintball grounds set as the max or do they have lower limits?
I will have to have a play with it the weekend and get it turned up a bit then.
300fps is the MAX everywhere, no one should ever be playing over that as it's dangerous. Playing at 265 is fine, you probaly find that most rental markers are set that low anyway. I would just notch it up a bit to get a bit more range.
It depends almost entirely on the site policy for velocity. Most rental sites run around the 270fps mark, events and tournaments run on the 300fps MAX.
Whichever site you play at, just ask the marshals/organisers what their policy on velocity is.
