After looking through a large collection of paintball videos (not all mine:() I noticed that there is a large variation on the presentation and display of the games. What features would you like to see on future footage?

I would love to see more along the lines of the Toulouse 2000 video, with a mini-map of the field in the bottom of the screen, so you can track the moves without the camera being on it. Very helpful, and useful in those "where did he come from" situations that so often happen when watching other videos.

I'd most like to see games, and lots of em.

Oh, and when they do put those tactic-y type things on (such as counts) it would be best to mute the soundtrack of the players saying there are only three on the other team, when the graphic is showing 6 ;) )

Oh yeah, and lots more games too.

Possibly have the games indexed so you could select from the menu something like "muggings" and just watch all the muggings from the various games, then, say "lefty shoot" to see all the clips of people shooting off-side, to compare various techniques. maybe that sort of thing.

I think the problem companies have with putting loads of games on, is that most of the videos are also trying to be an introduction into paintball, as well as a video for the experienced baller. There are many more people that don't play as opposed to people that do so there is a MASSIVE market for the first-time baller! If the footage is split into 2 sections it would appeal to a wider range of people.
  1. A beginning section (that can easily be skipped by way of a menu) that introduces the sport of paintball to the viewer
  2. A HUGE vault of games that satisfys even the most experienced baller

The idea of a central menu is a great idea and would probabily also have titles including bloopers (people falling over mid-break, or mid-mug) and muggings. Some slow motion replays as shown on Campaign especially would look good too!

I'd like to see mini maps used also, showing player posn's and tracking them as they move.

For those non paintballers (girlfriends etc) it would be good to review the game afterwards by enlarging the minimap and going through the main plays - footage of the players being tagged out could be edited in as the plays are explained.

Also required - banging soundtrack (some hard trance)

Although I like hard trance, I believe that it would not suit a paintball video. Punk, and some rock/metal would probabily be better. I think PUSH has the right style of music for a paintball video

Multiple, simeltaneous camera angles. Eg when two players are having a snap shooting contest, split the screen in two and show both of their perspectives. Same goes for muggings etc.

Also, make the camera angles change in a sensible way. Theres no point flicking between views so fast that you lose track of whats going on in the game. An overview camera / minimap would be perfect for this.

Paintball dancers, preferably with more talent than those shown on the campain cup dvd.

The mini map was a great idea BUT it was a little faint in places but the idea was superb.

Some thing with the slickness of the Campaign DVD.

Lots of games to watch. And with the functions of DVD.s have the option of watch the game from more angles (the little angle button on the remote.)

Campaigns Idea of lots of mini features (what it is how paintball works) was great too but just not enuff games for the die hard fan.

You just need to get the right balance of what people who have never heard of PB would want and what fans would like to see.
