It's become increasingly apparent over the last 10 years that i've been playing that media coverage of paintball in UK is dwindling to almost non-exsistent.

Can anyone name a publication that provides regular coverage of any tournament circuit in the UK that is aslo nationally available?

I mean you have the worlds biggest paintball magazine operating out of Peterborough with one of sports most well known people as US Editor (who is British) and yet i can't remember the last time I saw the Pball scene here covered (apart from Campaign)

I can understand that the market is obviously bigger and more lucrative across the pond, but I'm surprised that no company has filled the void since the transistion of the media blackout.

unfortunately the most up to date issue I've found of this (according to their own website) is at the end of 2005

Paintball is not seen as a sport by the out side world . Because of that we will never get any big tv coverage unless you cash out for it . The internet is the biggest thing we have in are bag of tricks , so why are we not putting are time into getting coverage over the net ?

All it takes to get the ball moven is for some body to start a chain mail , with all the detail's of the event and send it , it will get pass'd around and the word will get out .

Its easy to get coverage by your local papper just phone them up and invite them down to write a pease on the tourney or you write it and send it in . Poster's , flyers , radio they all help to big up are sport dont just wait for tv to come and safe us as your be waiting along time .

keep this in mind - more coverage means more money and more money means more sponcership.

The reason's for PGi's editorial slant has been gone over many times, but as Bryan Leaver has said, there's always the internet and P8ntballer would be happy to host coverage of UK events - the problem? Every time we've every offered people space for a tournament write up or results as a news item, they've always failed to deliver.

We'd be happy to put up a 700 word report on an NSPL with a few pictures, or the latest Scenario day, or a KoTH - we've always offered it to anyone who's approached us. Unfortunately we've always been let down.

So, if you want UK coverage, then by all means submit a report (with pictures) and we'll throw 'em up as a news posts, it's no bother for us at all. Just please actually do it rather than saying you will and nothing coming through. If we had enough content coming in we'd even make a UK reports forum were each league would have nominated "reporters" who could post report threads and then people reply, it'd save cluttering up other forums too. We've had it as an idea for about two years now :), just never done it after being constantly let down :(

We're happy to help wherever we can, but we can't work miracles on our own :)

there you go guys Beaker has set out what need's to be done .

For all you teams that take like four players as a pit crew , hand one of them a note pad and a pen and tell them to go write notes about the event .

things to cover ; feilds
marshalling
teams ( not just your own )
the crowd ( if there is one )
ect

then over the next couple of days after that event put all together run it past spell check and pm it to some one like beaker .

and see what happends , It only take one person to change paintball for every body .
