Hi,

Just been browsing through old articles and stumbled across the Evolt marker that doesn't require an air tank, seems to operate similar to an airsoft gun.

Just wondering what happened to this?
Surely this would be huge for sites, punter days etc

Yeah, a friend of mine got really interested in the concept and is currently trying to design his own with a sort of remote compressor in a backpack for the woodsballer folks. He's failing miserably :p

I suspect that they realised that it just would not work very well.
The gun itself actually worked very well, and was quite interesting to shoot. :D

Unfortunately by the time we got it to be production ready the paintball market had changed drastically and at the price point we were aiming for the company didn't believe we could sell the numbers we needed to justify and cover the costs of going into production.

The cash required to launch production compared to the risk level just meant that the appeal was lost. So the project was put on hold. Indefinitely. This was just as NPS and PMI were being merged so all numbers and financial outlays were under heavy scrutiny. It was decided the money was better spend elsewhere.

The gun wasn't really designed for the UK type market. It was more intended for the backwoods ball and renegade style play that is so common in the USA, and where it's harder for people to get gas fills.

Tinkering ain’t easy
Well it took me 3 Damn weeks to find fills in my area!
Then having to buy a dive tank and co2 tank and the fittings...

Regards Danny.
Please say these are seperate items i.e you have an air bottle and your filling that from your dive tank and you also have a CO2 bottle and are using a CO2 tank to fill that up, and not that your are going to put air into a CO2 tank or other similar calamity
