QEV stands for Quick Exhaust Valve.
It is used, to release excess presure on rams etc, to enable faster cycling speeds. Can also improve efficiency on some guns.
First uused on Cockers, currently used in Timmy's and Ion's as well.

ah alright thanx alot. it just does my head in when ppl talk about stuff and i dont have a clue what there going on about, so instead of just nodding pretending i no, i am 1 step closer to being able to join in lol
im in the same boat m8...
i recently helped a m8 install a QEV in an ION, first time id ever seen one let alone installed one..
he knew less about em than i did... messing around with the dwell settings to get it to fire was the worst bit, since i have no idea what a dwell setting is, or does, all i knew was it had to be changed for it to work.. (and has something to do with the rate at whitch the bolt returns..

with a qev in an ion, first off...you need to cut the material from the plastic body, in line with the qev, to the front, about 1/4 inch width, to allow removal of the plastic body for access to the bolt and fof correct fitment of the qev. it replaces the front banjo fitting on the main tube.
then drop the dwewll right down, as it describes in the manual...approx 52 bleeps, till the light dont flash when you press the button...then raise the dwell, up to 8 bleeps an try it for shootdown...if any problems, raise it a bleep at a time till it works ok.
