For those who don't know, there is a top-quality PB series called Northern European Series (formerly Nordic Series). The new name reflects the ambition to expand beyond the Nordic countries. This series began in 2001 and has a well-established reputation for great venues, competition, reffing, organization and parties.
This season the format is dual-flag, five-player, five-minute games using the Millennium rulebook with a few modifications. We allow both Millennium and PSP gun modes.
We would like to extend the invitation to any teams that want to be part of the fun--wherever in the world your team considers home base.
This year we only have tournaments in Sweden but in the future we expect to have tournaments in the other Nordic countries--and perhaps in the Baltic countries also.
We just finished our first leg of the series in Flen, Sweden. The feedback has been very positive.
The remaining tournaments for this season are:
22-23 July: Varberg, Sweden. This is on Sweden's west coast in a very popular summer vacation/party area. Think beautiful beaches and people, sunlight and partying nearly all night long and medieval castles.
26-27 August: Skara, Sweden. This event will take place in a popular theme park called Fame World which has a fantastic PB park on-premises. This tournament is brought to you buy star Joy Division player Sebban Persson and his lovely wife Louise of the FL Charms.
30 Sept-1 October: Helsingborg, Sweden. This is lovely port town just across the Sound from Helsingør, Denmark (known as Elsinore in Shakespeare's Hamlet).
28-29 October: Stockholm, Sweden. This tournament is in a large, indoor sports facility, fairly central with good public transportation. Stockholm--the capital of Scandinavia and also known as "Beauty on water"--is arguably the most beautiful capitol city in the world. Since tourist season will be over expect to find an even warmer welcome from the locals. Also expect some of the best partying opportunities you'll ever find.
Please check it all out at http://www.nespaintball.com. Watch this space and the NES website for some well-known teams to participate in the series.
All the best,
Steve Morris
