Marhshalling rec is way worse for me than playing, mainly because of the lack of adrenaline combined with the harder rec-paints. I wouldn't take to wearing a padded boiler suit (too hot for one thing) but I can certainly appreciate the desire to wear one. Having said that, in my opinion shields are a better idea for marshals if they're going to be working in hot conditions.

 Yeah, fair enough when u are playing it doesnt hurt that much beacause the blood is going and you are to concered with playing.

But marshalling....jesus, don't BS and pretend it doesn't hurt cos u are hard. Marshalling customers and you get one in the inside of your leg, neck, head or maybe on your chin up through your gogles and it hurts like crap. Super ditto for tourney reffing, really not a pleasant experince when you are getting peppered down one side cos the guy you're examining is under 3 loads of fire. Came back after reffing one tourney at our site last year and my left size was almost one big welt.

Now, i don't really kick up a huge fuss and whine about the fact that it hurts (excluding this post) but the fact is.... Paintball = pain and hurt and to deny that it doesnt hurt them is just asking for a shot in the bollocks or other particually painful place to proove them wrong.

If you're playing for the pain, then save yourself time and effort by giving me £60 and I'll kick you in the nuts for eight hours :)

I play 'cos I like paintball, the paint doesn't bother me too much, but I can't say I'd miss it..........
