watford pullover??

im just wondering if anyone knows whats happening at watford?
because we are at my cousins house in watford and my dad went out late last night to meet a friend and on the way back between 12.30am-1.00am
he got pulled over by heavily armed police carrying two white boxes, and they asked loads of questions like what are you doing here in watford and your D.O.B and things like that.
but they never told him why they pulled him over.
so im guessing they might have been looking for a stolen car maybe

so we are all wondering what is actually happening, so anyone living in watford or close to it know what has/is happening??

ok not a clue what the size has got to do with it, but he says they were about the size of a laptop as in length.

Wouldn't read to much into it really, the ANPR system they use can sometimes mis-read license plates. Had a few friends pulled over, and only after pulling them over have they realised its read the license plate wrong. Your dad was probably unlucky enough to get pulled by a armed unit.

they do that alot round my area, once a month or so they have 3 or 4 places around the town where they set up an anpr car then a couple of traffic cars down the road waiting to pull you over. quite often armed units help make up the numbers as it apparently takes about 12police to pull over a couple of chavs in a saxo!
