Hello Furies, Sorry to have remained silent up to now but I decided not to start smack talking on the 'net until I had something useful to say. I've now had a look at the plans etc, and have a few ideas, so I just need to find out who will be kicking arse alongside myself, my fearsome officers and the deadly Ringer Patrol
What I need is for those groups of players attending together and playing for the Furies to identify themselves, as well as their leaders/captains/loudest members, by e-mailing me at olly.bell@btinternet.com. By all means sound off by posting on here, groups and individuals alike, but e-mail will enable me to talk to groups in private.
During the Saturday, the Ringers will be found in my little white tent, so please drop in at any time for fun and frolics. We will have a meeting at a time TBA, but because my tent is small I can only see so many people at a time. My “plan” is to form small units with those players who are already in groups, with the single players, pairs and trios either working alone or together depending on the tactical role they want to play. What I also need is for groups and individual players to think about how their talents can best be used in the fight for victory.
If you just want to play and have a good time, then please do your own thing and have a great day. If you want to stand around in groups just out of longball range walking your trigger and chatting, be my guest (but watch out for those flatlines ho ho). If value for money for you means sitting in the safe area having a smoko and a cup of tea, knock yourself out. The group I am talking to and those that I hope will come and see me personally on Saturday night are the players who want to have fun by kicking arse all day, standing knee-deep in a pile of vanquished opponents and just generally fighting every chance they get. I know that they are out there, and that they are prepared to spend the day embroiled in the thick of every fight going, running back to spawn or reload and then running back into the fray with a smile, because I see them at every Big Game. They are the people that win big games, and even if they lose their opponents will remember them with respect. Every time I play one of these events I see how a handful of heroes and heroines are able to break a deadlock, inspire others or take a fortress, so imagine what fifty working together would do. If you want to be a hero, e-mail me and tell me so, because you will be very welcome.
If you are willing to charge all day, build a mountain of bodies and attack no matter what, then say so and you will be given the opportunity. If you like to sneak and snipe, let me know. If you like to defend against hopeless odds, sound off. If you like to stand with your thumb up your arse chatting and walking your trigger, kill yourself.
If we are to win glory, we need to fight. Decide how you or your group want to fight, and let me know. There will be enough action for everyone this year.
Lastly, good luck to our opponents, thank you to the organisers and everyone have fun and shoot straight.
