This is being copied from another forum (any chance of a sticky please Mods?)

War of the Roses 4
In 1990-1993 YPC held 3 big games. These were the War of the Roses 1,2 and 3.

WOR 3 attracted 360 players and was until a couple of years ago the largest big game in the UK.

The success of the War of the Roses series has prompted a number of people over the last few years to ask when is number 4.

I can now tell you that War of the Roses 4 will take place on the 21st August 2005.

This is the date of the existing walkon in August.

How will it work?
We will be removing all game boundaries just leaving the perimeter boundry to the site. This means that the game area will include, the bunker, the castle, the forts, the bases, the swamps etc, etc.

What is the format?
The game structure will be the same tried and tested formula that the previous WOR's took. That is 4 x 1hr 15min games. Eliminated players will have a 10 minute waiting time before being able to return to the game.

How does the scoring work?
Points will be awarded to each team for eliminating players and also for successful missions completed.

Who can Play?
Anyone with their own equipment.

What are the teams?
The teams will be East against West. Take a map of the UK and draw a straight line between Edinburgh and the centre of the Isle of White. Those on the Eastern side of the line will be East and those on the Western side will be the West.

What will it cost to play
The price per person is £25 in advance £35 on the day.
Air to 4500psi will be FREE and provided by Tactical Paintball Ltd
Co2 will be FREE
This will be a bring your own paint event. Paint will be available on the day if necessary.

Anything else?
As before there will be a free draw for a top of the range tournament marker. This will be an 05 Intimidator or similar. Each player will be given an individual number on the day. At the end of the 4th game we will draw a number out of the hat and whoever has that number, walks away with the marker. We will also have other prizes during the day ranging from equipment to paint.

Where Can I get a Ticket?
Tickets will be available from the 5th May from the Fat Bob's web shop or in store.

How many people will there be on the day
Our aim is to beat our previous record of 360 players.

Sounds pretty cool to me

If I can get some other guys together we might make a weekend of it (long way to go for us poor Hobbits down here).

Just a couple of questions:

1. How much will the paint be on site?
2. Are there any photos anywhere to see what it looks like?
3. Can you guarantee that the ground will be dry, we will have at least ten burger vans, the site will be massive (but I won't have to walk too far) and that all buzzards will be moved on??
lol :p

P.S. Having seen you last weekend, the Robtattoo and weirdy beardy thing all makes sense now!! :D

There's a car park 100 yds from the safe area, catering is done on-site & I'm sure other caterers will be drafted in, as will further toilet facilities. Photos of the site (as it is now) are available HERE The site itself is a mixture of dense to sparce deciduous woodland, including swampland, 2 speedball-style areas, a river/maze/street area, a feckin huge great bunker, castle & various huts/buildings. The whole game area covers around 60 acres & at no point can you see clearly for more than 100 yards, especially come summer. I'm not sure on paint prices yet as a deal will have to be worked out with our suppliers for the event. By the end of August, the site should be pretty much dry, but, knowing the good ol' English weather, the swamp could well be in use :D :D
