Best way to describe them is like a high maintenance woman, there's very few times you can get it out the case it work fine. I own one and I regularly have to change the dwell according to the weather.

However in the past year i've not had to change an o-ring (well I had to change the ASA oring because it was leaking a small amount but nothing major) and for the price I believe it shoots just as smooth and quiet as the Geo3's, I wouldn't think twice about taking it onto and tourney or scenario field.
There still is some UK support, most tech's can fix any problems and if they can't do it I'm pretty sure the guys over at the factory in Nuneaton can do it, it wasn't shut down they just machine different stuff now.

How much was you looking to pay for one?

It's a lottery if you get a working one or not, don't do it.

The one picture which sums up the reliability of the current Vanguard line for me is this one:

Player #23 is Frank Connell, owner of Vanguard and captain of Vanguard sponsored Pro team Avalanche.
Here seen playing for Avalanche in the NPPL NEO event at the start of June 2013 and shooting a......Luxe. Some of the team were shooting Demons at the start of the event but by the end all were on either Luxes or DMs. If both the owner of the company and a Pro team fully sponsored to shoot Vanguard products can't get them working reliably enough to use in a tournament and have to resort to another manufacturer's guns, that's not a good sign in my book!

Just to echo what has already been said, Keep away.

There is now little to no spares in the UK, I was approached at Campaign Saturday gone and was asked by someone who was supporting a team using Vanguard markers if I could sell him all my spares and parts I have as they didn't have any and couldn't get any to repair the guns they had.

But if you still choose to buy a Lemon Demon I will do my best to help you out when it plays up.

Well thats a shame to hear. I shot one at the masters and it performed flawlessly, best shooting marking I'd ever shot. Any others you could recommend I try? Shot a mates Geo3 a little while ago, personally don't think it compares to how smoothly the demon shoots. Obviously a geo is reliable though

When running well the demon is a very smooth shooter renie will vouch for that, But the trade off 80% of your day will be fixing and fiddling with it.
Having assembled 100's of them I can honestly say no 2 were the same in terms of the way they went together or shot. Machining tolerances, poor quality metal used and over zealous polishing made the demon a lemon.

If you get offered one make sure it comes with spares like gaskets and 0 rings as some of the british standard 0 rings used are hard to come by, and you will need a good supply of 23x1 0 rings.

Doesnt matter how smooth it shoots, if it works less than a wyno, dont throw your pennies at it. The grips are rubbish and fall apart when introduced to air, they cant even line up the window in the grips with the board, the trigger swings side to side worse than an inflated bawl bag. X
