Hello,

just wanted to say hi, and jus say that I found this forums realy helpful.
I apologize for any mistakes I make, english is my 2nd language :)

After playing paintball couple of times with my friends I decided to get my own equipment,
got really hooked and my goal is to play speedball + some of the bigger events.
As I used to ride motocross proffesionally I'm very competitive and since my injury doesn't allow me to do that anyomore paintball really got my attention (I also used to shoot range)

So I decided to get the equipment in that order (alread have knee pads, gloves, pants (motocross ones, but for now they'll do for now))
- mask (bought Dye i4)
- pod pack (bought NXe Elevation pack)
- loader ( Dye Rotor?)
- tank (68/4500)
- marker (Etek 4?)

Just wanted to get your opinion on that setup, I did a lot of searching but still not 100% sure...
Also I know it's stupid but I don't want a used gun, something left over from my motocross days. Buying used bike was to much of a gamble and if I get hooked and turn out to be decent I'll get a higher level gun, for now I'm looking for a setup that won't let me down and allow me to play on decent level so I won't feel that I threw money away.

I was also considering:
- proto reflex rail
- axe

- spire, z2

But after spending some time in one of the shops (site supporter but I not sure if that won't be considered as advertising I decided on that.

What are you'r thoughts?
Happy to be here and join paintball and paintball community,

Pawel

Like the i4s, the rotor is a bit of a premium item. A halo too would easily keep up with the needs of real life and measure up against the best of them

A 48/4500 psi cylinder is fairly standard, but rather then jump in id say to feel a few first and get the right size/shape for balance and comfort. Or take an aluminium/steel 3000psi cylinder. With what you are looking at you will have decent air efficiency and a fill will last for gameplay
However from what you've put up if you've been in a shop, got hands on and it feels right for you then go for it

Welcome (y)

That set up is absolutely fine and will last you many years if you want it to, just look after it all, and watch some videos on youtube for maintenance. Or if unsure can always ask on here.

But even better is to (like tommikka said), to actually go try some different guns out. They all handle quite different, and there will be one that feels perfect. Much like bikes probably.

You wouldn't be disappointed if you picked up an Empire AXE and an Empire Z2. Very easy to use / maintain and most likely the best value for money in the classifieds on here.

Don't be put off buying used equipment. So long as you read the descriptions and look at the photos carefully you will find most of them an absolute bargain.

If you are that worried about buying used gear, stick to the user's with the most posts who have been around the longest.

We have been using AXE'S and Z2's for the last three seasons without any issues at all.

Check out the classifieds as we are moving across to the Vanquish for 2014 so have plenty of markers and loaders for sale between myself and @phil-boy

You'll just need to hang around and participate in enough threads to get your post count to 20 before you can use the classifieds.

Cheers

Thanks for the feedback, I wanted to go for 3000psi + halo but got a deal that would make me feel stupid for not taking the 4500/Rotor + I just feel that I won't need to change that setup (4500 + premium loader) for longer time (I hope)

As for the gun feel I haven't tried AXE yet but I'm not sure why I'm not leaning towards it...
Proto Reflex feels great, but no one said to go for it over ETEK, heard that they're unreliable.

BUT, I love to take guns apart, back home I have Sig Sauer P228 and I'm used to maintaining my guns.
If well maintained and looked after is Proto really that unreliable compared to ETEK or AXE?
