Hi guys, i want a reliable accurate 1st marker - just paintball have some package deals with the A5 so i was leaning towards that.

I want a milsim styling wise ideally.

I'm not fussed on rate of fire i want accuracy above all else - is this a good marker for this or not???

hi mate. In my opinion the a5 is a great first gat particularly if you want mil simish looks its practicaly indestructable and easy to maintain. As for accuracy most of that is down to you.... Lol however the stock barrel is poor. The flatline will give you distance but the accuracy is fair to poor. Best barrel for accuracy ive used is my mates straightline but that is 100 quid and none 2nd hand ive found. I run a 14 inch cp barrel on mine and that does me just fine.
Hope that helps

the a5 was my first gun, had it for nearly 4 years and never had any major problums with it. its reliable, tough and does the job nicely :) some would say the ak47 of paintball.

however... if you are only interested in playing in the woods, (as i was when i started out) then it is a great option. you may find yourself drawn toward the tournament scene however (youtube "paintball" and you will see what i mean) i think i can safely say that we all started in the woods, then slowly got drawn into tournament or "sup air ball".
here the a5 is useless, as it is heavy, big, and has a huge block called a cyclone sticking out of the side

if you are sure your going for the milsim look, go for the a5 or the x7, however in my experiance iv found that pracicallity beats looks any day. for this you want a light accurate marker, that can put paint down when you need to and can be used for tournament paintball if you decide to go down that route.

as for getting a package, dont bother. the most important piece of kit is your mask, get a decent one like dye invision/i3/pro i3, empire, jt proflex, vforce grillz or suchlike. make sure you get one with a thermal lense. packages NEVER come with decent masks, or decent anything for that matter.

accuracy is down to you as bigjim said, but you will want an upgrade barrel. dont go for one more than 16in they just get in the way and waste loads of air trying to get the paintball down the barrel. snipers in paintball dont really exist as all guns fire the same distance.

hope this helps, any questions give me a shout:D

Id get a figure of what you want to spend and go shopping on here.. Accuracy is created by paint to barrel match and then theres Cocker 'the most accurate maker in the world' if you buy into hype..

Guess you are unaware of LiPS Get Out & Play packages: http://www.lpspaintball.biz/acatalog/GET_OUT_AND_PLAY_PACKS.html

Even better, if you phone Jon or Chris on 01707 325007 or PM them on here (Jon Owen LIPS or Chris Lacey) they will tailor a package for you at an unbeatable price and offer excellent customer care! Not something that just any paintball retailer can boast about.

09 Proto SLG ftw!

cheap, light, effcient and upgradable

But most importantly for a beginer, has excellent after sales support from dye/proto through their large chain of dealers
But not very Milsim is it? ;)
