Hey guys, just a quick one or two questions.

1. Can organiser/people list walk-on events that will hire gear please

2. why dont or wont places hire gear for walk-ons ??

i'll explain why, i'm trying to get a load of friends into the sport, they all have been to punter days and loved it, but i'm trying to get us all together for a days balling, now they all said "cant afford it" so i suggested walk-ons, and gave them the price, 12 have agreed to go now :), so potentially 12 more ballers, hence Q1 :D

As for Q2 would it not help the sport fantastically if new player or people could get a real feel for the sport by going to walk-ons, so by hiring the gear to a noobs, they in turn could get hooked (like me) and go out by the stuff and in-turn help the Uk paint scene.

Prob way off the mark here but hey Q1 is what i need answers for :)

Here at Ambush, we couldn't agree more - and I thought most sites offered a Bring A Mate (BAM) rate at walk ons?? Am I wrong? Again?

We are based between Southampton and Portsmouth, so a little way from you.

Our BAM rate is the walk on rate + £5 (to cover cleaning, etc of loan kit).

Walk on rate (BYO) is £25 to include lunch, tea & coffee.

Paint prices vary but we think they are reasonable (£25-£35 box depending on brand/grade).

Our next walk on is not until 20th March as we are hosting Takur Gahr III this month (20th Feb) - a scenario event with 100+ players. We are offering the BAM rate for that, too!! Not too late to book in though may be short notice for you!

If you need more info, PM me.

Thanks guys :)

Should of also stated, distance is not an issue, Midlands( Gloucester, notts or lower ) down south as they are well spread, so we will have to travel, just some lucky chap will be closer than others :D

Shame about Takur Gahr III, a bit to soon for me :( , but thanks anyway

I thought most places offer rental kit for walkons. I have the same problem, a small number of staff from work that came to a punter day last year want to go again but want to pay the price I pay for a walk on, plus I want to play against them with my gear. Never thought a site would turn them down.

Not the few i have been to m8, they will normally lend a mask or tank, but don't normally offer the full kit.

Big Game

Have you give any thought to attending a big game like warped fast approaching Heist North Vs Souuth event which is held over the weekend of fri 29thapril to sun 1stmay at Swynnerton training camp staffordshire. (the way this years going i'm sure it will be here before you know it) You can play as much of the 3 day event as you want with many different ticket options including a rental option which is £25 and inc 1000 balls to get you started with great prices on boxes of paint.
You can stay on site over the weekend and attend the players party and get involved with all the games and stuff thats going on, if money is an issue for some they can just attend the main game on the sunday
Before you decide i think you should take a look at www.northvsouth.com for more info as there so much going on and its one not to be missed
Hope to see your lot there ;)

yes mate i have suggested that, but i thought that maybe it might be a little overwhelming for a newbie, i myself have only been playing a few months, and to be fair its a little scary to me

it is something that has crossed my mind a few times

Yes i can understand that mate but sometimes jumping in the deep end aint such a bad thing
I took my Dad and My two Brothers to the tippman challenge last year (my dad never evan held a marker before and my bros only been to a couple of punter days)
They had the time of their lives and my bro's play regularly now, my dad still comes acasionally but is getting a little long in the tooth to run around all day:D
It is also a good way to try some new guns and stuff if they want to play regular paintball
with a lot of trade stands and a shooting range and most experianced players willing to give good advice and help to newbs
Like i said i understand you maybe being a bit aprehensive but if you managed to persuade them i dont think anyone will regret it
Good luck where ever you's end up playing
