have got a new revvi, what difference do vortex paddles make?

more points of contact = more agitation?

or is it just a waste of a fiver?

i got 1 of these. They dont make it feed faster but gets all the balls down the tube:). Its smaller and doesnt cover the whole as much as the old paddle.

Vortex

I have done the side by side hopper test, one with standard 2k2 paddle and the other with the vortex.

I loaded 100 balls each into the hoppers so i can see the paddles movement!

It seems that the paddle scoops the paintballs round and into the feed neck where as the 2k2 stock paddle appears to just either throw the balls to the side or loose grip of a ball loaded between a paddle.

This shows that the vortex may not increase feeding rate by an incredible amount but it will stop that flicking that we have all seen in the stock paddle hoppers!

It looks cool as well, mines a light green in a smoked revolution and it looks kool!

I have one of the ole Vortex impeller jobbies in my hopper. Basically what I've noticed is that:

* As others have pointed out, the last couple of balls dont get flicked about.

* The impeller doesnt touch the edges of my hopper so it appears to me that it spins faster due to less friction (but could also be the X-board)

* The arms 'capture the balls', and the top of the impeller is angled to help balls roll down into the arm gaps... this helps them feed down the neck better.

Overall buy one, they do the biz, esp if you have an X-board too :)

Cheers
