vision impulse problem

i was given some false information about this marker when i got one second hand as a backup. so what i did was stick my 5000psi bottle on the marker. the relise valve started pissing air out so i changed and tried a 3000psi adgustable reg but still with that on it pisses air out the relise valve. i am hoping i have only blown o rings but some more help would be great

I take it its a preset reg on the bottles?

If so it might be the wrong output pressure for the Impy, I don't know what pressure Impys need but if you are sticking too much air into the gun from the bottle you'll end up with air pissing out of somewhere or other eventually. So if its a HP reg try a LP reg instead...

3000 and 5000psi are only the bottle fill limits nothing to do with the pressure that comes out of them btw

turn the pressure right down on the max flo, sort the problem i had with mine.

what you need to do is make sure the input pressure (from your front reg not bottle reg) to the impulse is not anymore then 200 psi or it will leak out of the prv (pressure relese valve) in order to save your soleinoid from blowing. optimal input pressure is around 160-180 psi, but if you have a lpr it will be around 120-140 psi your best bet is to download a impulse manual from smartparts website (www.smartparts.com) it will come in handy and also check this website out www.kamworld.net/paintball/impulseFAQ.html , gives you all the info you need about your impulse.

Does the impy have a vertical regulator on it, or just a foregrip. If it is the one i am thinking about (Trenzo's) and you have put a HP preset through it, you have just put 850psi of pressure through a gun thats designed to take 180-200...
It might be due a trip to smartparts after all that sort of pressure its probably going to have blown the solonoid...

Not as far as i know mate. I think the impulse is an older gun. and was designed to be used pretty much with adjustable Air systems, someone correct me if im wrong. Therefore unless it has a vertical regulator on, which the one in question doesnt. Then the gas is only regulated by the bottle reg... Which in this case is 850psi, causing some interesting effects on the solonoids i guess...
I only know this i have tinkered with this impy before, so if im wrong someone correct me...

^^correct. The stock Impulses of years past feature no HPR or LPR, so they require low input pressure from an adjustable reg (like, oh, say the Smart Parts Max Flo). The pissing that you're hearing is the sound of your 'noid being saved! If that extra 650 psi wasn't being vented, your 'noid would be completely destroyed (and actually still might be). You'll want to get an adjustable tank, or a verticle Max Flo, or something like the PMI Thor regulator (http://www.pbreview.com/products/reviews/1546)

i have know got the maxi flo set up to it so it is running on low pressure but the air still rushes out the other end through the relise valve. could this mean the solinoid is letting air through and out or could it be something else still need help could people help me please

if its coming out the prv the input pressure is to high, 180-200psi, if its going out the noid u would get a leak around the bck of the marker
