I've just recieved two emails about a Virus.....
One from Jon Payne saying there is a virus about which doesnt go live for 14 days ??? called jdbgmgr.exe they say it by passes norton anti virus etc.......and you must delete it

Then one from someone else who recieved a email about it and they say DONT delete it ....


Which one is TRUE !!!!!!!

The NAI link to the description of the hoax includes, at the bottom, the method for restoring the jdbgmgr.exe file in case it has been deleted so all is not lost.

Nothing will happen until something is run on your PC that requires that file (some sort of Java de-bugger). It will only ever happen in the background.

Your best bet is to follow the instructions in the NAI web site for restoring that file.

I've received a few e-mails like this but ignored them coz the names were'nt ringing any bells to me. but i've just checked my mail and i've received a couple more one of which was from Rancid. i've just ignored them(nothing personal Rancid) but i'm curious if anyone else is getting these mails still.

The hoax will continue to bounce around for a while then slowly die away only to come back a few months later.

The best thing you can do is confirm it's a hoax then break the chain by not forwarding on any warnings.
