Firstly, neither Microsoft nor AOL are in the virus protection business, so would have no reason to be issuing virus warnings.

Secondly, it is rather unlikely that anti-virus software would be unable to detect it - although they might need a new definition file or even a new scanning engine update (which they release on a regular basis.)

Lastly (dead giveaway this one) random PARTS OF THE messages are IN CAPITALS. Have you ever seen a release from a reputable company using CAPITALS TO PUNCTUATE THEIR SENTENCES?

Anyway, anyone who hasn't learned after all these years not to open attachments they aren't expecting from people they don't know, deserves everything they get.

There has been quite a few wind ups, sent through BT recently. i will check with him tomorrow.

Bloody BT engineers, way too much time on their hands.

I'm glad i'm on NTL and not paying for their idleness.

This was all i got my end from a mate in BT. I haven't had a chance to speak to him yet, as i've been out of the country for a few days, and just got back. It wouldn't surprise me if it's a wind up, they're always trying to wind each other up.
