Vinyl Wrapping Markers

webby

I was browsing the MacDev section of the Nation and came across these....

FightClub Droid 1
FightClub Droid 2

Now, these markers are not annodized nor are they laser engraved, the graphics are actually printed on a vinyl wrap, something which I have never heard of let alone seen before. Does any one have any information or experience on vinyl wrapping markers?

Seems like a great idea to me as it would be much cheaper than getting a gun re-annoed and would offer a greater range of graphics and colours, as well as protecting the original anno job. Supposedly the graphics will withstand a lot of abuse and will not fade in the sunlight as well. Just seems like a great way to customise your marker without shelling out a load of cash. Thoughts?

I don't have any information on this but i am very intrigued. It would be a much cheaper option as you said and it still looks very nice. I am wondering if there would be any down sides to this vinyl wrap method ? Also is this a new thing ?

if its like a sticky backed vynal sticker, each design would be for a specific marker which puts the price up, and youd have to have skill and patience to fit it...

Id do it for a laugh..

Looks more like it's heat treated to fit.Im pretty sure they've been using this method to apply camo to rifles and such for a while.

I have heard of this being used for advertising on cars etc.

sounds like a good idea in theory, and those droids came out extremely well I have to say.

doesn't look like something you could do at home though, and Dskize you are right i believe it is like a heat shrink type material.

The material they tend to use is the same for car decal stickers.... the guy im ordering my custom hopper stickers off custom prints on vinal or however you spell it, but they have to be a bitch to fit to a marker - I agree that I think those have been heat shrunk that fit is to clean on the edges, and well the barrel - it had to be lol
