@Vietnow

Welcome to p8ntballer, nice chatting on some of the threads, but tell us more about yourself ...

How did you find your way onto here, what other forums do you use, either side of the world?
Back in its heyday I was regularly on the spec ops forums and used a number of their additional features such as the brigade & game locator - I also added various uk events to that feature and met a number of uk players via the American forum

Going by some of your comments you may be a woodsballer/ recreational player.
Have you also found ukscenario.com?

Am I right with that being your direction of play, am I wrong or are you a varied player?
What's your experience in paintball, where to you play and are there any chances of you coming over to play sometime?
This forum is mainly speedball orientated, ukscenario is scenario orientated, but both welcome all types of players and we have forum members that frequent many forums.

I have been scouring the internets for a way to get a RF adapter onto my new Proto for a DraXXus pulse. One of the very few things that came up was a post from a year or so ago about the perfect thing I need. So I came here super excited but sadly the person seems to be on a vacation from paintball. I figure why not wait around with some cool sounding people and see if he comes back around?

I used PBN forever. Way back when I was in middle school through high school. I was super into slapping every single mod I could on a base marker to make it "the best" back then. We had a 3 man team that won many events locally but never got any real interest from sponsors. Most places where I grew up had their own team of the owner's kids so they did not want three random kids. But, we did shut out the league four years running so I guess we had our own neat way of making it work even with hardly any paint budget much less a gear one.

Then airsoft got really huge and the financial crash caused most local paintball fields to go out of business or become very high cost field paint only. Considering we had the largest field for in in North America and it was free to play I played that for undergrad (I am in grad school now) because it was literally 10 bucks plus gas money to play all weekend. Now it was super dangerous and I saw more injuries (including at least two dozen lost teeth) in a summer than 8 years of paintball... but it was fun.

Airsoft and the fact that where I grew up had just as many farms as airball fields to play in is probably why I sound like such a woodsballer. You have to learn a lot of skills to survive in the woods when your local woods field is next two one of the largest Army bases. So things like camouflage and tactics besides speedball ones are in my wheelhouse. I love woodsball but sadly after airsoft and being able to hit people through underbrush I doubt I'm going to be seeking out a woodsball field again locally. It's just too freaking hot where I am now!

So yeah I enjoy the milsim aspect of it but mostly played on hyperball and air fields. This was when the ramping and firing mode changes were being incorporated into events so that plus our clutch back player getting a football injury (American football) caused the death of our team. We couldn't afford new markers; much less a player we had been winning every event with for 8 years.

The last reason I even bothered to try and post on the forum, being that it is euro, is I was born in the Netherlands. I moved to the US very young but my mother taught in the UK (Manchester public school high-school or primary or whatever :p) and my dad is European so I figured it would be fun to post here. I quit posting on PBN a very long time ago as I got sick of it being such a large community with no real bonds. So yes... I could come play some ball with you gals and gents someday. It would be really fun to show the TSA and then customs my marker!

I hope that this was the type of answer you were looking for, heh.

tl;dr - I loves me all kinds of paintball.

Not trying to discourage you from posting on here since I've found your posts very informative on here but if you're looking for a friendly helpful US based forum try mcarterbrown, I suspect if you posted your question about the RF on the Proto in the "ask the experts" section on there you'd get an answer inside a few days.

I've always been shocked that airsofters don't wear ful face masks, or at least something that covers their nose and teeth, especially considering I take at least half my hits in paintballt to the face.
