I am about to buy my first gun, a cocker, and I was wondering if there is any performance benefit to the vertical feed model over the standard. Also, where can I find the best deals at? I am looking at the Worr Pack at Paintballgeeks.com for $419 with no shipping charge. Anyone see any better deals? Thanx for the help.

vert feed

The best thing about vert feeds is that they don't increase your profile according to which had you are shooting with.... for example if you have a LH feed marker and come out of the LH side of your bunker shooting left handed then u have a big ugly hoppe sticking out for the opponent to hit.

Do not get an autococker as your first gun. You will have so many problems. I own a cocker, it is crazy unless you know what you are doing. I played with a pihranah for about 10 months before i got a cocker and I still did not kknow what I was doing. Playing with a lower end gun won't teach you about cockers but you still will learn a lot about the workings of a paintballgun. Get a spyder or a piranha

Vertical feed is a good idea however if you buy a standard feed you can then put an Armson power feed on it so you can turn the paint off the same as an Automag if you do chop a ball (you will until you get used to the trigger) also it gives you around six balls in a stack where as a vertical feed will only have four and by manipulation you can position the hopper in a central location so the profile is the same as a vertical feed
oh and a standard feed should be a fair bit cheaper than a vertical one....and before I forget the Armson power feed is metal not to be confused with the brittle plastic types that were around.

And finally you want an Autococker you buy it nothing wrong with being 3/4's of the way up the food chain (standard form not a fully modified version).

I agree with Mark on putting a Powerfeed on if you get a left or right hand feed cocker but if i was buying a Cocker new it would have to be a central feed!

As for not getting a cocker as your first gun because it's hard work... bollocks! As long as you have two brain cells to rub together you can work out how to keep them running. However, if it ain't broken, don't fix it!

Best advice though is to try before you buy as the trigger action of a cocker is different to the majority of other markers.

It's all very well saying buy a piranha first but what is the point if you are going to keep playing for a couple of years? Rather than shell out for one marker now and then another in a years time get a cocker now and then when you want a 'new' gun next year, shell out for some shiney custom parts for your cocker!!!

I just bought a right feed cocker and it kicks ass. If you are customizing it or you shoot really fast you might want a vertical feed. I think the right feed works just fine though. I started with a tippmann then got a cocker. I have never shot a cocker in my life. As long as you dont take it apart without knowing how to put it back together you'll be fine.
