I hope you are talking about the Maverick pump gun, or my help will be, well, less than helpful
The first thing to check is the bolt. Pull the gun apart, and see if there is a threaded insert in the bolt. If there is, then that is your velocity adjuster. Looking at the front of the gun, turn it clockwise to increase the velocity, counter clockwise to decrease the velocity. The bolt adjustment will allow you to fine tune the velocity, but to get in the ball park, you may have to swap springs anyway. They came stock with a HUGE Allen wrench to reach down the barrel, but worst case, just take the barrel off, and use a normal length wrench. If memory serves me, it's a 3/8" wrench.
The main spring is a cocker spring (well, more like cockers use Nelson style springs, since they came first), and using a stiffer spring will increase the velocity, softer lowers it.
The valve spring is the same as an OLDER cocker valve spring. If you try to use a valve spring for 98 and up cockers, it will be about 1/4" too long. You can always cut it down to the correct length, but then they will be useless in any newer cocker.
Hope that helps.
