heya guys,

I've been awaiting a shipment of jerseys for my team to land from Xtremepb for about 2 weeks now and tracked the progress via USPS website. This is all well and good however now its just been updated and apparently they attempted a delivery last friday (funny that because my folks were at the front of the house all day working on a new car).

There is no further updates on reattempts to deliver. I've contacted them via email (which itself is an effort and a half, you have to enter your international address, format of postage but you cannot continue through the email form unless you enter a valid US zipcode, very smart).

My question is:

Does anyone know if they will reattempt to deliver and/or is the package stored in the UK (if so any ideas) and can I collect it?

Mods, I apologise if this is deemed unacceptable based on the lack of paintball related subject matter, but my team are really wanting their jerseys and if I can collect them I think it might possibly bring me back in their good books. Cheers guys.

Parcel Force handles USPS in the UK

I had a guitar shipped this way, it was expensive, and PF cnuts wanted about £15 handling fee, but it got there in one peice in about a week. Id try yourt local PF depot, with as much info as possible.

However ,come to think of it, delivered can mean "it has reached Customs"...which if I recall is as far as USPS send your item, before PF take over.

probably means the driver couldn't find your house. what they will probably do is send you a letter to say you have a parcel waiting at your local PF depot.

happened to me with a marker, turned out to be an agency driver who couldn't be bothered to ask for directions........

Cheers guys thats a big help. Now that I know parcel force are the UK handlers I'll nipp down to the local office and see if they can shed some light.

Thanks dudes.
They arent the sole handlers for usps. I have quite a lot coming in from the states majority sent by USPS and only once has it been parcelforce. UPS have always, the bar the once mentioned, handled all mine so might be worth checking with them.

i had a set of playing gear shipped from the states via ups - took 3 weeks in total by the tine the stuff shipped and cleared into customs where parcel force worldwide then billed me via a letter for duty, vaat and handling. when that was payed over the phone by card they then delivered next day.

and tracked the progress via USPS website.
The USPS tracking number means nothing once the shipment has reached its port of exit in the US, it then goes in to limbo until it gets picked up by the UK agent (usually Parcel Force in my experience) after passing through customs etc.

So its worth checking with the local office, though they can be pretty unhelpful (as will UPS etc.) if you don't have a tracking code, which sucks because they issue it a new one when the pick it up. The first you usually know of it is when they deliver/atempt to, or notify you of the charges due.

You may find that you owe import duty and VAT on the duty and the US postage amount and a UK handling fee, can make these things a bit costlier in the long run than you think to start with
