I've heard alot of people talking about upgrading the boards in the etha's but i dont see how much this would change the marker? would i benefit from it or not?

I don't see why you would need to? What does the new board offer you over and above the standard one?

If it shoots why change it, like Mikey said, save the money and spend it on the paint, or if you like playing scenario games, get the EMC kit :)

Buying a new board for any marker is only really worthwhile to the existing owner... it has limited resale value as most people are happy with using a stock board (particularly for PE service & support). Therefore if you plan to keep the marker then it will be cheaper than buying another marker with the same capabilities

However, how often will you actually need to adjust the settings? Most players just set up and leave it configured, many of the settings remain untouched even in the aftermarket boards.

Yet buying a board does offer is the ability to add screen... like the Virtue OLED

BUT if you are looking to add a screen, then you may as well consider selling your Etha (market price approx £200-220) add the board (virtue Etha approx £150). For that sort of money, you can buy Ego 10 / Geo 2 without issue. Add a little more and a Geo 3 / Ego 11 will be in your price range (£400 - 500)

So it really comes down to what your plans are with the Etha... keeping it and the upgraded board offers opportunities. Thinking of getting another marker, then put your cash into the next purchase!

see i love the Geo 2 and 3's, but the Geo 3 is a little out my price range, but note anyone with a Geo 2 ever wanted a swap with my brand new etha (had 3000paint through it) + £100 cash, ill take it all day :p

if you love the Geo 2 & 3, then I would say you are likely to change once you have the funds. Therefore as the other posters outlined, save your money.

Unfortunately most Geo owners wouldnt do this deal, so use the aftermarket board money to start the Geo buying fund! ;)

The Etha is a lot of marker for £200-220 and you should be able to sell that relatively easily!

i agree with the other guys, its always worth weighing up the cost of upgrades compared to a better marker (made that mistake with a BT.....)
