OhhhNooo

Emperor Of Evil
Lately my team has had some...well i guess ill call them revolts/uprisings. Theres 10 people on the team. Some are convinced that they should be put in different positions. But for every new position the old has to be filled in. And simply that cant be done. Lots of threats about leaving the team are coming up. Also some players are saying that their useless on the team (when their really not) and begin not to show up to practice but up to games. And a lot of Internal stuff. Also the back players ( are a little over weight) are saying that the other players will call them names due to their size. This I say "take it like a man" but its in front of their children.

Looking for help

thanks

Dude, it sounds like you need to take the grown-ups on the team and rebuild. Your guys have forgotten that they're on a team. You also need some leadership, someone's got to demand respect, someone's got to get the team behind him/her. You don't necessarily need a drill sergeant to come in and rip on everyone, but you atleast someone that everyone respects enough to listen to. If you've got a bunch of selfish babies though, it'd be far better to just cut players, or find a new team altogether. ARGH, I hate that crap, I've never had an ENTIRE team do it though.
Best of luck my friend. :(

If (and that's a big if) the other team members can be reasoned with, how about have a training day where everyone tries out each other's positions? You may well find that the people who thought they wanted to play a new position discover that they prefer their old one, or people find a new position that they didn't want to try before. Also, you should find that they start to develop a respect for the positions others play on the team.
If the other players start name-calling the backs, get them to try having 4 people all trying to mug them at the same time - natural padding seriously reduces the pain (voice of experience from an overweight back player), plus try carrying anything between 7 & 11 pots when you're skinny, they just don't fit across your back.

It's always worth trying the exercise of swapping positions anyway, as backs need to learn to go forward agressively & front guys need to learn how to defend.

Think of poor me!!!

6ft 4ins, to many years of pushing pens around have now turned my body into jelly (18 stone at last look) and years of smoking Fags (ciggies to you yanks) have meant that I can't run more than two metres without stopping for another smoke.
The only option for me is to play at the back but I love the rush of front play. This is a major pain in the @rse as My mind says run like a fool and get up front but my body says stop you fool your killing yourself.
This is why at rec days you find me out of position and first into the dead-zone.
So come on you front guys leave us back players alone after all we cover your backs for you and one day you will get that spreadage that hits near middle age and end up at the back getting the p!ss taken out of you by some you whipper-snapper.:D
