Who do you think was the most underestimated UK team in 2002, going by results and placings.

I have my view but want to see yours, for this reason i believe that magazine coverage and blowing your own trumpet has put a few teams in the spotlight but without any results, in other words have you been caught up in all the "we are great" hype

In my oppinion, the most underestimated team in 2002 was Ecstacy. Starting out as a scratch team in March, getting better and better throughout the year, finishing 10th Am in Toulouse and 5th Am at Campaign.

They were the arguably the second best UK Am team notching up wins against the Rushers (Sos guys I wont let you forget that :p ), Hardcore, Hellwood and nearly taking down the Legion in Toulouse.

With no media coverage whatsoever......

Good Luck to the lads in '03 :)

Clearly Team Monkey Love as although they formed late in 2002 they acheived a decent result in their first ever Temple tourney and won their first trophy in their second tourney together!

Team practice this coming weekend and a trip to Buddha's Amsterdam Open the week after will start off the Monkey's attack on paintball dominance for 2003.

(A change of name might also be on the cards... Watch this space! Suggestions welcome.):D

Monkeys sound a bit more menacing than Chimps...?

Keep the suggestions coming. Oh and can you say threadjack?:D

Twisted

Ok a little biased I'll admit, however bare with me.

This time last year the guys who play for Twisted had never even picked up a marker before. They came 9th in Bullies series 2002 and a 29th Novice position at the campaign cup.

That's crap! :(

There was Media Coverage. I even had Twiz thanking me even though he hadn't seen the report and pics. He was thanking me just based on other people talking to him about it!

I do agree though that they were one of the underestimated teams. They played some great ball and got decent results. You can read about it on www.warpig.com ;)

Si, I think the main media contact point for UK peeps is going to be PGI and / or this site and not Warpig and on that basis, I make Tommy right.
But I do see your point :)
I think the most underestimated teams are:- Kelly's, Ecstacy and K2.
Kelly's have a great team roster, that's for sure.
Now while Ecstacy's team roster isn't as strong as Kelly's, they more than make up for this in having Phil Webb as their coach.
And K2, well, they have some real good young players, all apparently eager to learn and are prepared to put the work in.

Just my opinion :)

PS Old Skool, why bother creating a new 'Sign in' name just for this thread?
