is the proto m5 ultralite frame worth getting for my PM5? are there any major improvements over the standard frame?

I considered getting one for my M5, but thought it was kinda pointless in the end. Doesn't make a massive difference to the weight as PM5's hold most their weight in the actual body. Potential advantages are the UL trigger and the board. Perfectly happy with my trigger and I have a Mill board so have semi+ramping anyway.

Your choice, but its a lotta money for not a lot of changes ;)

more modes, lighter, ALOT comfier grip, better feel gripframe, VERY VERY nice trigger.

but... its £150.
If you can afford it then go for it

EDIT: forgot to add. your proberbly spending the money on either training/toruneys/walkons or buying others ups EG: new bolt, clamping feedneck, new barrel

it totally changes the feel of the gun mate. I MUCH prefer the UL frame to the standard matrix frame, much smaller, more comy etc...

Also the trigger is absolutely sweet, and the ramping modes (PSP and Millennium) come built in, unlike on the stock frame where u need a different board for each etc...

Don't think its *too* difficult. You'll need to take the solenoid and eye connectors off the board (carefully, as the eye wires are brittle) and undo the frame screws, then the same in reverse with the UL frame :)

With the UL frame added, you can upgrade the stock board with a tadao(improved trigger and eye logic, more settings to play with) and install dm5 eyes, an upgrade over the eye ribbon.

Few things to think on

do you ever play any other mode than semi ?

have you held one personaly i dont like them but others love the feel ?

could you spend the £150 on something else ie paint or towards your next gun?

as for weighing less you save yourself 2ounces allready your pm5 weighs less than a dm5 and DMC and you dont see people moaning they are to heavy
