Ok guys so the M25 is certainly getting better, and proving to have great venues and great teams playing to attract crowds.

How good would a X-ball leg be??? Pretty sweet I reckon, or how about an X-Ball game at the next M25 event or at a MM event??

Sparklie do you think you could sort it out. I know we (Method) would play and no doubt Shock and Tigers would be up for it, not to mention some other teams.

So how about it - what do people think???

Hmmmmm

Would cost an awful lot to run, what with a dedicated field & a dedicated set of marshalls having to learn different rules etc.
Certainly I don't think it could be done this year, as we're only just getting things right now after a very steep learning curve & need to consolidate a bit before thinking about branching out any further.

Don't forget guys, the M25 only just started out this year as a series for southern ballers and warm-up series for Millenniums, by people having their first taste of proper tournament organising. Now every time someone posts, they seem to be comparing the events directly with Millenniums which is very flattering to Sparklie, but the money and organisational backing just isn't there right now. Yes, we could whack up the entry to £300-350 a team, charge for "membership" cards etc to raise the money, and be able to afford all the wonderful ideas people have. And don't get me wrong, I think the majority of the suggestions made for improving the series ARE constructive & I know Sparklie would love to implement many of them, but she and the other helpers only have so much time to set stuff up and there's only so much money in the kitty. Without some wonderful series sponsors then even what we do now wouldn't be possible, but the sponsorship is also not exactly at the same level as you get at Millenniums - more like free use of fields and some prizes rather than £1000s in fees for trade stands!

This doesn't mean to say don't keep putting these great ideas forward, but just to remember that we can't always implement every very good idea suggested because of financial, time or experience limitations.

wicked idea.

just too expensive.

it would just make the cost go up that much more certainly something sparklie doesnt need right now. the last couple of m25 must have cost a bomb to run

Um, well - you do realise that the price is going to HAVE to go up anyway don't you? At the moment all the legs of the series have run at a loss, and we aren't talking just a couple of quid either. Up 'till now, you've been getting all the facilities of a major tournament including proper loos, perfect grass and different venues for the same entry fee as a tourney run at a permanent paintball site.
And then we get complaints that it's not up to full Millennium standard

That I don't know, but I'm sure Sparklie will try to keep it down as much as she can. However, you can understand that she can't go on subsidising the players for much longer!

Yeah, we all realised it... of course we did... can't say we're "glad" to hear it, but if it means the quality of this event keeps improving as it has done, I'm all for it. :)

M25 is a small miracle, and given the amount of bad-mouthing it's been taking, all credit goes to Sparklie for not only continuing to run the event, but to improve with every leg.

As her Sparkliness has already said, it's a learning exercise as well for everybody involved, and I'm glad it's been here for us southern 'ballers. Especially those of us for which this is our first tournament! :D
