Lets not all get carried away please, i have had loads of calls and players saying to me ' its great, UK paintball is back on the map and we can start to take on the rest of Europe' just because we get some good results in Bitburg. But i hardly think that Outrage winning Div 3, Storm and Stealers AM taking 2nd and 3rd in Div 3 is the start of us taking on the world. Its at the Top end that we need to do well, at the Moment we have Shockwave, Nexus and Tigers, which 2 of those teams are still sorting themselves out at present.
So untill those teams starting getting Success ( WELL DONE TO SHOCKWAVE FOR 2, 4TH PLACE'S) lets not get to carried away.

I disagree. To rebuild our ability to compete at the top we need to have a strong foundation to base it on. Our top teams need a talented/experienced player base to recruit from rather always having to pick up players and train them from scratch. Obviously one event does not make for a resurgence and we need to see these results repeated throughout the year but with these lower division teams bringing a higher level of game back to our lower divisions teams will need to work harder to compete and we get a general rise in skill.

Ed - We need to get a swell of young players in the lower ranks, let them progress, then offer them up to the top teams as competitive and technically developed paintballers.

I think Stealers AM will do this with some of their players (Billy Webb / Conor Stewart / Terry Williams) but not all. Likewise, Outrage will probably not provide guys for Pro teams in the future.

Thats my 2p...

2 points of view on this
1. outrage provided some of the most boring, negative paintball i've ever seen in bitburg and irregardless of age i think that is a negative for uk ball.

2.shock, nexus and tigers are a whole different issue.

shock have consistently been the uk's most successful 7 man millenium team and have transferred well to the m7 format. 3rd could have been theirs but for some problems with the clock etc.

nexus struggled and i dont really know why. marshalling issues certainly contributed but maybe some internal politics are causing problems too, what with cleetus unexpectedly leaving.

tigers had a tough draw with the two finalists in their prelim group, and probably the youngest and most inexperienced squad in the cpl, after half the team left in the close season. they are trying to rebuild and time will tell but they must address the 141 issue with their snake guy as i think he got more of his team eliminated than he shot opponents.

the future is what we want to make it, lets train hard and put uk ball back up the rankings. its up to us.

I can't possibly comment as I am sure it will get deleted again despite giving respect to Shockwave for a good show - shame they fell foul of not being able to see the scoreboard in sudden death.

Duffy - As a Rocket Scientist I am fully aware of the effects of propulsion and the potential for fueled vessels to explode - so I have sent you a PM.
