UK SouthWest League Leg 1
This past sunday, myself and a fellow team mate guested for team Hurricane at the first leg of the South West League hosted by Arenalin Games at Exeter in the south west of the UK. The format was 5 person Sup'Air Ball. 14 teams turned up, for eight games of six minutes each.
The site is well laid out, with flushing toliets, covered safe zone, benches, cooked food, tidy and generally well organised. This leg had good judges, no holes in the ground to trip in or cow sh1t on the playing field. I often play at Temple and other south east events including Mahem, so have a variety of tournaments to compare this to.
There were no "Pro" teams playing, but the standard of the "Amateur" teams was on a par with some of those found at Temple, however the "Novice" teams were of a lower standard than found at Temple, in their defence, many were playing sup'air ball for the first time. I won't bore you with details of results.
By way of a disclaimer, I have no affiliation with anybody in the southwest league. I just love to play paintball. When somebody gets off their @rse and sets up a league we should either support them, or setup our own league if we think we can do better. We all love paintball and want others to share our love, that can only be done by more people being aware and playing paintball in all its forms.
If you live in or near the southwest, give it a go, if you like it great, if you don't like it then tell the organiser why and get them to fix it, but dont just sit there and bitch about it!
