Hi all, what are the UK fire modes for:

1.Scenario/Recreational markers such as BT and Tippman models

and...

2.Tournament markers like Planet, Dye, and Empire markers

Many thanks! (y)

Scenario markers are often semi/burst/full auto and tournament markers have semi/adjustable ramping. Then of course you get exceptions like the luxe which has everything :)

In the UK it is Illegal to use Full Auto or 3 round Burst at a site as it's considered under the Gun laws as a fire arm.
Quote:
'With all these points being taken into consideration the United Kingdom Paintball Sports Federation has decided that as of today (26/01/01) the only recognised mode for a paintball marker is SEMI - AUTOMATIC.

ONE PULL OF A TRIGGER
RELEASES ONE BURST OF GAS
FIRING ONE PAINTBALL.'

But for shooting in your backyard/private property it's fine i believe.

The problem with that statement is, the ukpsf isn't the law/home office. The above statement only applies to ukpsf accredited sites and events, any sites that aren't ukpsf members can decide on their own rules.

That quite dates back to 2001 and was as a part of liaison with the home office

The UKPSF are not the law, however are the recognised representatives of paintball by the home office, and usually talk in line with how the home office interprets the law

The general line of thought is that full auto and burst fire are not explicitly illegal, and therefore legal, however insurance policies for sites (whether UKPSF or not) do not normally allow for full auto / burst fire
This is mostly in regard to safety

A site can decide to allow full auto, but to get insured and licenced by the local council to run a site as a business they must produce risk assessments - so would need to show controls to cover the risk

I believe for international tournaments in the uk full auto has been allowed for events. The safety controls that can be placed on teams in a controlled environment is different then a walkon group on an average site
