May have been asked before but i don't care.:D

I would like to know what every1 thinks would be the BEST (and realistic) way to advance paintball in this country of ours??

Do you think along the lines of 1 set of leagues for the whole country to play in?
or
A league for the North and a league for the south with all of the 'Pro' teams in a league together??
or
carrying on as we are hoping that it'l get big in America and then maybe some1 will take notice in this country and it will grow???

The best way for paintball to advance in this country is if we make it less closed off to the general public. Make the links between rec ball and tourny ball stronger and have punter sites promote tourny training venues.

It would also help if the support and help for young teams was more forthcoming (i dont mean sponsorship). At present we are facing a future where it is becoming more affordable and easier to find a local training venue. This will be the key.

By increasing our talent pool and allowing players to train on a regular basis the standard of UK ballin will continue to progress.

I know here in the states, I feel what has helped the sport is alot of local/regional tourneys for those "not so well known" teams to get a chance to increase their tourney skills & obtain some sponsorship opportunities. Granted the states is alot larger & travel to venues can create some difficulties if the team is paying their own way. With the smaller, local/regional tourneys, the "rec" players feel they may stand a chance & not get mowed & embarrassed. A new team usually starts out playing a local 3 / 5 man tourney, and then when comfortable or confident enough, move to a regional league (ie: the CFOA) and then on to major events like the PSP/NPPL. Usually the local fields will give a "working" or "reduced cost" sponsorship to the newer teams trying to make a name for themselves or to help out on cost (ie: paint, registration fees, etc.) I think to help the sport grow & get those "rec" players to play tournament ball, it comes down to the local field owners to encourage & support the newer teams in competing in the local events.

i thinks its gotta start from the bottome

i.e punter sites

we dont even have a regonised organisation like a govering body that set rules and regs etc that site have to abid by to legally trade a punter site

we have sites like delta force that are making money yes but not doing paintball any good!!

in my opinion, and this is as someone only starting paintball at tournament levelish over the last month or two, the system in place seems great.
Down in the south west, or atleast more specifically where i am ive met loads of people that want to help out beginners and the KOTH is a good example of this.
I like the idea of a whole uk league system but i image the travel costs alone would get much too high especially when put with playing costs aswell.
