Let's just take a look at what Tyson is all about, I will ignore for the moment his predilection for raping, and violence outside of the ring and concentrate on his pre match rhetoric.
He slams Lewis, calling him all the names under the sun, tells us all he wants to scramble Lewis's brains across the floor and kill him.
Now the reason he did this was simple, this is how Tyson thinks and was simply saying it.
The rationale for this outburst goes along these lines :- Tyson probably believed he was going to win, and so, all that crap being spoken was not going to affect his post-fight opportunities and therefore income.
After all, if Tyson was right in his thinking, and was going to be world champion, he was on top of the money pile controlling his income destiny as heavyweight champion of the world.
Basically, as the Champ, he was a money machine just waiting to print it all off.
Now come the fight and he gets his ass spanked, he is no longer anything, he's a spent force, a no-brainer thug with no future apart from the gutter or more likely, jail.
So how does this affect his rhetoric when he stares destitution in the face ?
Oh, now all of a sudden, respect for Lewis comes shining thru, he said after the fight, 'Me and Lewis have been friends for soo long', he has the greatest respect for his friend and his mom and so on.
It made me wanna puke !!
And then Tyson had the audacity to ask his 'friend' for a rematch in an almost obsequious manner.
My God !!
Tyson allegedly had all his 17 million bucks spoken for in having to repay massive debts he had run up and now looks toward a bleak future unless he can guarantee another pay day, so what does he do ?
He appeals to his 'friend' Lewis.
Tyson was a great champ, Tyson had respect for himself and others but now ?
Well, you know how that one goes !
