Hi,

After a recent visit to a local paintballing center I decided it was time to look into paintballing more seriously.

I've played quite a few times now and I'm interested in taking it up a level. So after being directed here by a friend who plays up in Leed's I thought that I would sign up and see if any of you guys can give me any more information.

Mainly, I would like to know a bit more about paintballing in Essex, UK. I've been to the local fields like Delta Force, Skirmish and Mayhem but I was wondering if there are any SupAir fields around. If not, is there any where can you play regular walk-ons? I have looked into it a bit but I'd rather some first hand accounts rather than website propaganda :p

I'm just trying to find out some more before i commit myself by buying equipment then realise there is no where to use it.

Thanks, any help is appreciated.

Mayhem do a walk on every 3rd sunday of the month. It wont be all sup air, but its more than likely you'll get some time on it aswell as the usual woodsball fields.

If your in a team, you can talk to them about renting it out for training maybe. (asking for Rob or Ronnie would be your best bet if your interested in that)

Bricketwood is THE place to go for training days for sup air. Although because the site is getting better by the day, more and more teams are renting fields for themselves to train.

So your best bet would be to ask a team training and ask if you can jump in with them, play some games and what not. Maybe post up on here if anyone is training, when and if you can jump in.

Bricketwood is about an hour away from me so that looks interesting ill check it out. I'll probably go along to a few Mayhem Walkons. Do they run HPA? It's just if and when I get a marker I don't want to bugger it up using CO2 and i take it you need specialist air compressors to fill up not just the local petrol station's air pump.

I was looking into the PMR, SLG or Ion. My friend has an Ion but he told me I should think about getting a second hand eclipse. What are youre opinions? Getting one may be a little way off yet I'm not going to rush into things :)

It depends if your looking to just be going now and then to play some sup air or your looking to get in a team i would wait if i was you see if you get in a team then buy the same gear as the team have.

Yes, mayhem supply air fills.

Eclipse guns certainly are lovely. A second hand Etek or Ego wont set you back too much, but go down to a walkon or training day and ask to test out a few different markers. See what you like.
