I am trying to get the Spyder Shutter Java edition Black. I was wondering what anyone thought about this gun. It will be my first every paintball gun

I found one on line at shop4paintball.com for 250.00. It is a package and comes with: 9 oz co2 tank; plug; 200, 32 degrees paintballs; JT x-fire google system; 200 roundhopper; and a teflon elbow. I plan to buy a 24oz co2 and use the 9 for a backup.This is the gun i am getting but the Black version

i owned a spyder compact 2000 at one time, god it was grim, im not sure about the shutter java edition black, but i have a mate how uses a shutter java edition but its red, and it works pretty well for him.

It's crap. Out of the box, it never shot above 250, even with new springs, the trigger is about a mile long, and it's got a hell of a kick. Spend your £250 on a used automag, you should be able to get one with an air system for that price.
It looks nice though, if that's any consilation.

I thought that paintball guns didn't have recoil? Or do you mean something else by "kick"?

I can say from experience that i do not like spyders or pirahnas(sp). I work on lots of peoples guns in the area i live i do all the mods work on my friends guns, almost everyone i know of who owns a spyder or pirahna has trouble getting the velocity up over about 260 which is a problem unless you plan to online play on small fields that have limits that low. I know people who have tried every aftermarket product available from springs to bolts none have made any significant difference. I would strongly suggest a Tippmann model 98 they are just as cheap as a spyder but you get way more for your money. It isnt that I absolutely hate spyders i just think for a begginer a Tippmann is way less of a headache, you can take em out and totaly tear em up and jsut run through a bucket of water to clean em off.
