By transporting I assume you mean by air?

If so last time I hauled a system onto a plane we were told in advance it was best to remove the burst disk from the bottle and open the valve to prove that it didn't contain air/CO2 that could be affected during flight.

As to transporting anywhere else stick em in a bag full or not, that's what most people have been doing for years.

On advice of the dive shop I got my tanks serviced at I've got a Non-Flammable Compressed Gas (2) sign for the car but I'm not sure what is required by law for CO2, (if anything).

Wish I'd studied those regs when I did my H&S Qualifications rather than Kinetic Handling:(

just to be on the safe side i would empty the bottle and remove the valve, that way there is no chance of any misunderstandings with the courier

cheers

Sounds like good advice mate, sorry I read transporting as moving yourself rather than using a courier.

My bad :(

if your only transporting within the UK then removing the valve is not necessary. ive shipped a few myself and as long as there is no c02 in the botte then you are ok. but remember to leave the valve open;)
