In both EXL tournaments so far the same 4 teams have placed in the top 4. And I don't see this changing, apart from maybe Nexus if they get their X-game together.

I expected Russians to do well, but they have been phenomenal. I thought Joy could have a chance against them but not even close. The positive surprise of the EXL has definetly been the Tigers. Nexus has been a disappointment, but I'm sure they will fight for a top 4 placing.

Ignition and Ducks are pretty much out of the race, Shockwave having a very slim chance. They have to catch varying Ton Tons having a bad day.

well...

... after what I saw at the weekend, unless Nexus step up a gear, the improvements made in the Shockwave camp have been impressive (admittedly I've not got any previous experience of Shockwave/Nexus X-ball with which to make a comparison - only 7-man), and I personally thought they weren't far off Nexus at all...

4th place ...too close to call between Tontons, Nexus and Shock at the moment... in my opinion...

Whilst it is interesting to debate who the top 4 teams will be in qualifying for the WC in Orlando, a more apporpriate question to pose may be " Who are the 4 that can afford to go over to the US for one match....."

Legion will be sorted, but to only get to play one game in a single elimination XBall format vs the NXL'ers is not something that i can see many of the EXL teams participating in from a financial point of view. Flying all that way with 16 people, for one game, hotels and car hire, as well as flights may be untenable.

Top 4 you say in terms of playing ability?

It was originally, that is, up until the Dam, a single elimination knockout if you lost.
Mike Ratco told me on the Sunday of the Dam that he would be endeavouring to make it a double elimination but I haven't actually heard of anything official yet.

As for who goes?
Good point Sam, because it may well not be the top four as Magued and myself have already gone on record in saying, no matter what our final placing, we will not be going (his claim to a top four placing is a lot more legitimate than mine at this stage I hasten to add).

It is supposed to be being played on the weekend before the rest of the Orlando tournaments starts, so the prospect of playing in front of a few racoons and a few members of opposing teams isn't all that alluring especially when we were promised the tournmant would be televised.

For teams who are playing both the NPPL and the EXL (except the RL) then the Orlando trip is an unnecessary and huge expense.
For the other teams who couldn't afford to keep their feet in two camps, Orlando might well be a fitting end to their season.

1st: Russian Legion
2nd: Joy
3rd: Nexus
4th: Tigers

Tigers played really well in Dam, but still got a feeling that Nexus have got the skills and support to produce. how long it'll take them im not sure but when they find their feet in xball, then i think they'll be consistantly finishing top 2/3.

best four teams for me are

The Legion 1st (without any doubt)
Joy 2nd
Tigers 3rd (battlers to the end, good on ya lads)
Tontons 4th (hate to say it though)

as to who goes to Orlando........thats up to the teams involved.
