Ok so this is an announcement but if it wasn't for this man you wouldn't be using compressed air amongst a great many other inovations with regard to paintball. A great shame it has come to this.

Jeez, there goes one of the legends. Let's face it though, the Automag isn't exactly the top marker these days, and with the Emag being forced out of production by the nice folks at Smart Parts, they lost any shot at a market in the tourney/high end scene. Still a shame to see a guy like that just up and quit.

Damn there goes another one,

It's a shame to see Tom go, but in my opinion he has seen the changes rung by the Smart Parts problems and is getting out before AGD hits even more hassles than the E-mag has run into.

Do we look to another manufacturer to now show the way?

And if we do, any guesses who will become the most innovative of the current crop of marker makers (those still vaguely active at any rate)?

Maybe aka?....hmmmmmmmmmn, maybe not

It has been no secret that AGD has been under financial stress for many years. With the recent downturn in the industry
It's sad to see Tom leave the sport, he has offered a lot.

but that quote? major downturn in the sport? seems to be more people playing now than 3 years ago, what do you think?

I might be wrong but I doubt it :D
Understood.

You gonna shed some light on things from industry perspective ;) what's up and how is it different from people's perspective of what's happening with events etc. E.g. Turn up to an NPPL, lots of hoopla, media, huge trailers and industry presence etc - everything appears better in the industry and 3 years ago with easy-up tents etc.

Just trying to get an intelligent thread going here ;)

Planet Piper away from you freaks!
You want an itellegent thread then ask me for a perspective! There is a contradition in terms!

Somethings are not what it seems on the surface.

Yes the events are getting bigger each year, but what about what goes on behind the scenes, Sp are battling with companies over patenst, that puts a strain on teh industry.

What if I had an idea for a gun that would change the way we play, I don't want to do anything with it yet because I want to see how the court battles work out. Now the court case may take a year 18 months, that is a long time to sit on a product, it holds an industry back to a degree.

Tom started way back when and helped the industry grow, now he has had a few problems form the industry spent money on the XMag and then had to shut down production, that would hurt anyone when you helped build the industry.

What would you do?

sleeping...

sp DON'T sleep at night, that is the point. Those soldiers that were trained to go 24/7 without sleep, that's sp. How do you think they beat others to the IPR for all this stuff?

Damn robots and mutants takin' over the planet, eatin' our women and sleeping with our food.

:(

Growl.
