Hey guys,

Just got myself an Ion as a starter marker, being a student i dont have that much money so i wondered is it best to keep this marker and buy some upgrades for it (new barrel, board etc.) or to save up the money and buy a nice shiney in 6 months or so? If so how much should an old ego or any eclipse be?

Thanks

Save for the Ego mate.

Ion's can be made very high spec by chucking upgrades onto them and after hundreds have been spent will shoot as well as any high end marker out there.

The problem is when you come to sell your ion you will never make your money back.

Theres someone selling a spotless DM5 on here for 120 which is cheap as. Tempted myself but have seen a pink ego

Even if you up your ion, when you look/play with other peoples markers it will make you want that one.

Mind you look at the invert mini. Some go for around £150 and they are great markers for the money.

Plus they are tourny legal so no need to buy any up's :)

Save up and buy a gun that'll have re-sale value! Your Ion will be a good marker, but not worth sinking ups into.
Egos - 5 - £160 upwards, 6 - £190 up, 7 £240 up, 8 - £290up

Eteks - 1 - £150 up, 2 - £200 up

Does it work? Can you shoot people?

Why bother doing anything other than spending your money on playing. Why on earth are you thinking of buying another gun in 6 months, when you are on a student budget and probably can't play all that much anyway.

Ive had 7 guns in 10+ years. Have spent around £40k on playing/training. I played "pro" for 4 seasons and Div 1 for the rest (apart from first 2 years)

Play, forget about shiney. You aint a magpie. A new gun wont make you any better now will it?

best thing is a good comfortable mask that wont fog on you because you cant shoot any one if you cant see don't matter what marker you've got

I agree with piranah buy a really nice mask like a pair of second hand i4s for about £40 or a new pair ifin your ur budget. Also think about gettin a good hopper like a halo for woodsball or a velocity for sup air. Think about the other things that make your gun tick.
