Anyone offer any tips for setting up my Cocker?

I have a :
2001 Eclipse Cocker (ergo reg etc)
1.1 Pure Energy Bottle
Eclipse Drop Line
Empty Bank Account

If anyone is able to offer any guidance as to setting the right input pressure etc I would welcome it, I did intend to ring Planet but if anyone has some experience in this field I would welcome your comments.

Anything to watch out for so I dont f'%4£ it up the first time I connect the Air system as I have not even put them together yet.

Thanks a lot

Delay

Sorry for the delay in replying Beaker, I've been in touch with the guy who's bottle it was and am awaiting his response (I bought the marker and air separate, unless you had not already guessed!) and the bottle is not due at my house till the end of the week so its not actually in possession yet.

I post again when he e mails me back

Thanks

As I was hitting the submit reply button he bloody e mailed me!

The tank pressure is fixed at 800psi (he thought he was 99% certain although he said it could be 850!)

Does that through any light on it for ya?

Leave evrything well alone, Eclipse cockers are the only ones I've never seen people having problems with (at least Sam never had any probs with his)
Goldon Rule in cocker land

Paul, I agree on an on-going basis, but if the guy has only just bought it then he needs to set it up.

Davo, a fixed output will be OK, saves you one job anyway!

First thing - have you every used an Eclipse before? i.e, do you know how to set the velocity with an allen key at the back with the Rex kit?

Here is the quick version assuming you know what you're doing.

1) wind the Ergo (the front reg) down all the way
2) set the rex so it's about in the middle (easiest is screw it all the way in then back out about 3 or 4 full turns)
3) gas it up (without paint)
4) Slowly increase the Ergo reg pressure while firing until you can feel the blast out the barrel relatively strongly.
5) add paint and find a chrono
6) over chrono, keep turning up Ergo reg until the velocity "tops out", which is where, if you keep increasing the pressure past that point the velocity actually goes down (it's likely to be 270's ish all things being equal). Make sure you fire off a few to let regs settle each time you up the pressure.
5) once you've found that "top" leave the Ergo alone and use the Rex kit to fine tune to desired velocity.

As for ongoing maintenance - all you need to do is grease the bolt and put a few drops of oil in the ASA every so often, leave the rest alone unless you HAVE to touch it.

Let me know if you want more.

Im pretty sure that the operating pressure for a cocker should be around 90psi.
If the bottle is giving a fixed output of 800, the ergo reg should be able to regulate that down to 90psi input. I take it you bought the gun 2nd hand so the last owner probably had the ergo setup correctly, id just slap the air system on her and fire away.........I disclaim myself of anything that may happen to yourself or the gun in anyway as a result of this advise:D

Have fun:p

Matski,

90psi is the operating pressure - the pressure with which the back block is moved back and forth. that is governed by the reg that is on the front block (sledghammer in Eclipse case)

The input pressure for standard Eclipse cockers (i.e. the output of the Ergo) is roughly 300psi. I got mine down to under 200psi but that took a bit of playing about.

I learnt everything I know by breaking things I had :D
