Tippmann A5's for Woodland- Air Probs

Hi,

Ive recently modded an A5 for a mamber of the Death Wombles, out of the pack its an ok gun you get some good perks like a decent hopper for free,

The FIRST thing you need to do is get a Flatline barrel attached and just with that youve turned it into a deadly piece of equipment for woodland play, to start with you can shoot with a flat trajectory so you canopy cover is no longer a problem.

Next mod, E'grip with a double trigger, get the double trigger kit and replace the the E'grips normal trigger, get a spring out of a Parker pen or something thats not as strong as the one that comes with double trigger and you will be well on the way to getting 10-12bps.

The A5 is a heavy gun with all the mods so think about getting a light stock and a remote hose kit then i think you are well on the way to having a serious bit of woodland Kit.!!!!!

Last thing on the flatline dont tighten the 2 bolts around the neck if you leave them slightly loose you can whip off the barrel quicker than an angel or cocker so those broken balles in the barrel arnt as much of a problem (not to mention turned on its side the flat line can shoot round corners)

How the hell do i get this thing over 250fps on Air i can get 340 on CO2 but three different 4500psi tanks and not one shot above 247fps??? Ideas anyone cause when that egrip gets going i cant see through the smoke#!!

Hope this has been of some help

Chris

I use an A-5 with air with no problems at all. Here's my set-up: HP air, Palmer Stabaliser, red Maddmann springs and JCS Rear Velocity adjuster- turn the front velocity adjuster flush with the body, turn the rear velocity all the way in and then use the Palmer to control your velocity. You can make very fine adjustments and the velocity is very consistent. For flatlines, the velocity should be 250-270 fps, you don't need it all the way up to get good range. You do need good paint to get the best out of it, RPS Marbs seem the paint of choice.

The pen mod works fine but for even better performance get a JCS Duel trigger. This already has stiffer springs in it and you can get a tiny trigger and control the trigger travel.

for more along the same lines check out the A5OG.net
enjoy!

right the angel preset valve is low pressure and if the crossfire valve is blue its also low pressure so without modding the valve's your kind of stuffed - i dont personally recomend modding the valves but i believe its easy enough - just adding/subtracting/inverting shims

the digital (adjustable) reg was probably your answer im afraid

if anyone else can elaborate further - im not an expert on tippys
i just know what happened with my mates.

:) cheers

Tippmans run off air fine without any modifications aslong as its a high pressure output bottle:)

We run 50 98s up pbalexandria and alot of people use A5s up our site too with our bottles.

Exactly what jamie says you need high output pressure..at least 850psi.
