hi there all, for those of you who know me the inevitable has happened

i've purchased a tippman A5

so's i'd like to know a couple of things

1, can it be run on co2?

2, if i were to run it on air, what's the best input pressure?

3, is the flatline worth it?

4, if not a flatline, then what?

cheers for any input

as far as a barrel goes, the flatline is a rip off. I'd reccomend something like a DYE excel or a SP tear drop barrel, both are nice barrels and are good value for money :)

What ive heard about the flatline has been ok. But due to it putting backspin on the ball even if it flys straighter it has less force, as some is used to put spin on the ball and so there are less chances of balls breaking. Also ive heard they are a pain if you get a ball break in there.

According to my research at http:http://www.a5ownersgroup.com/forum/default.asp ;) , CO2 is fine. Air input pressure should be about 800psi ,although some guys have managed to get it down to 650ish. Using a spring kit, rear velocity adjuster and a regulator are recommended.
Flatlines are fine assuming you use a good quality, tough skinned , medium bore paint: RPS Marbalisers seem to be the ball of choice. You need to keep the velocity down a little, about 270 fps is ideal. Ball breakage is unlikely if you stick to this, but you should only ever clean it out with a pull through , never a squeegie.

The Wild Geese use 16in Armson barrels with good results
