Tippmann 98 Help

Anybody help please?

I bought a tippman 98 (not custom) for a £10 i have stripped it and given evrey thing a good clean, replaced all O rings and put it back together......BUT...

When you fire the marker one shot at a time its fine but as soon as you fire quickly ( not ripping but 4/5 shots quickly) it keeps uncocking its self??

any advise as to whats causing this? and secondly whers is the best place to buy bits as i have lost the Chuffing front sight spring it flew out and has landed in that black hole where all my left socks go i think??

A mate did suggest this may be a problem with the Sear?

And help would be appricated as i would like to lend this gun to a mate at the end of the month so he can come and have a game.

if its possible to take a picture of the inside for me i can tell what the problem may be.

it sounds as if the spring attacthed to the sear may be on the wrong peg

i wont know till i look at it as it may be one of many things

in regards to spares, where abouts are you in the UK?

Could be your sear, as your mate said, or could be you forgot the bumper that goes at the back of the tube, or could be a problem with your air source. Check all those.

Inside Pictures

Hi Fellas

Here are a couple of pictures of the inside of the tippmann, it is in the process of being repainted but i want to make sure its all working propperly before i get it Re- painted.

you need to make sure that the sear is in the forward position as it looks like the sear is not actuating with the trigger.

also you need a back bumper, all this is is a large o ring that reduces friction and the guns insides to displace.

if you can follow that advice it should work no worries.

everything else looks in order to me dude!

Sick psyko what do you mean in the forward position> as i cock the gun the sear moves forward or have i put it in wrong?

Secondly where will i get a replacment back bumper from as i don't think ther was one in the marker when i got it?

The reason it's not recocking is probably because your bumper is missing. You can put any large O-ring in the back of it and it should work. The rubber bumper bounces the hammer off the back of the marker and back into position on the sear. Without it, the hammer bounces off bare metal and won't reset well if at all. Try that first and foremost.

Brought marker round to his two heads are better than one plus i've used all my air!!!!

Have put a o ring the size of a barrel o Ring between the plastic back and the metal hammer but no joy still having same results as marker will sometimes fire three shots but will uncock every fourth or fifth shot.

Could the problem be with the valve ?

its almost like the marker is trying to full auto and keeps farting like it would if i was running out of air????

Please help before i throw the thing in the skip!!!!!!!!
