just flicking through random sites at markers (because im bored and cant sleep) and i look at prices. ion, 184, shocker vision 620, angel 599, ego 06 799, then u get to timmys...the cheapest is the dragon 699...then it jumps straight up to a grand a piece  i never realised that how much they are...how the hell do they get away with charging that much when you can pick up the best marker in the world (ego) for 799. sure the signature egos are the same price but they come with diffrent dodads, milling and that strange glow. timmy alias are a grand and theyre not signature really are they

is it cos they are imported? just a wonder...

Best marker in the world, in your opinion.

Not saying you are wrong, I like egos. Couple of years ago timmys were the marker. They have been overtaken by other markers now so Bob did some redesign work which cost money.

Bob now feels that his marker is up there with the likes of the DMC / DM6 and should command a similar price.

Am sure in the states they are being snapped up.

Over here its a lot of cash, especially as the support isn't here.

Because they don't need to? Simple business practice states that if enough people are buying at the higher price, then all lowering your price will do is lead to a perceived (sp) devaluation in that products brand recognition and status.

Exactly the same situation with the DM series - these are considered "Flagship" products and carry the corresponding Branding and Pricing structure.
