Hello from a newbie to the forum!

I've been balling for a few years now, and have always relied on my Tippmans to carry me through... but after a series of losses which I'm attributing to the marker (hey, if I can't blame the equipment where's the fun?) I think it's time to upgrade...

Any advice? I'm not looking to buy a DM9 or anything too fancy - my budget is around £200 ish... I saw that Tipmman have changed to BT and saw their BT4 markers (which have an impressive range of mods... from the AK47/delta to the sniper) but I'm suspicious that they may have compromised accuracy/speed for looks...

So maybe a SmartParts Vibe? or a PM SLG?

What would you recomend?

if not the proto SLG ultralite is a good buy. i think they are around £200 and they have everything you need. So if you want to play woodsball or even have a go as speedball your covered.

light, small and easy to look after.

I'm really a woodsball fan - that's why I liked the looks of the BT markers :p Their sniper edition is quite neat :)

I used to chair the IC-PAIN association (my universities paintball club) and we did some speedball... but as we had a mix of oldskool brass-eagle and tippman 95's we really were worthless at it...

The SLG looks good... I did have a look around for the etek; but there seem to be alot of buys and very few sellers in the 2nd hand market... sad...

The BTs are just the same basic markers you've used before with lots of unecessary crap and ornamentation hung onto them.....

But oh so pretty :p

On a side note - I assume the etek's don't run on CO2? The reason I ask is the site I tend to goto doesn't refill HPA; only CO2... which means I need to drag along my scuba cylinder....

which in turn means I need a new set of regs/valves and I need to get my cylinder tested as it's been a few years since I haven't used it...

Think I'll pop by my divesite this weekend for a chat :p
